The seventh edition of the Banks and Financial Institutions Football Championship 2025 concluded yesterday evening amid an electrifying atmosphere and a remarkable turnout of spectators. The tournament, one of the most prominent sporting events in the financial sector, culminated in an exciting final match between Qatar Central Bank) champions of the first and sixth editions (and Qatar International Islamic Bank, which was making its debut appearance in the final. The much-anticipated match kicked off at 8:30 p.m. at the indoor pitch of Aspire Academy
Prior to the final, the third-place decider was held at 7:00 p.m., featuring Qatar Insurance Group and Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company, both striving to finish their tournament campaign on a high note.
Qatar Central Bank clinched the title of the seventh edition after defeating Qatar International Islamic Bank 2-0 in a competitive match.
In the third-place playoff, Qatar Insurance Group secured a 2-1 victory over Qatar General Insurance & Reinsurance Company, earning them the bronze position.
The closing ceremony featured the crowning of the winning teams and the honoring of standout players, in the presence of distinguished figures from the sports and banking sectors, as well as representatives from Aspire Academy, the Qatar Football Association, and Al Kass Sports Channels.
The championship is one of the key sports initiatives organized by Aspire Academy in collaboration with Qatar Central Bank and the Qatar Football Association. It aims to foster institutional engagement and promote a culture of sports among employees in Qatar’s financial sector.
Commenting on the conclusion of the tournament, Mr. Salah Salman Al-Muhannadi, Tournament manager said:
