As part of the celebration of Qatar National Sport Day, observed annually on the second Tuesday of February, Aspire Zone Foundation organized a wide range of outstanding sports activities tailored for all segments of society. More than 20 diverse sporting activities were held across its open fields at Aspire Park, aiming to promote a culture of physical activity and encourage community members to adopt a healthy and active lifestyle.
National Sport Day 2026 activities were launched under the slogan “I Chose Sport”, running from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and were distributed across several locations within Aspire Park, specifically pitch No. 10, 11, and 12.
The event witnessed wide participation from employees, who enjoyed a variety of sports activities including a staff-only walking march around Aspire Lake, fitness classes, spinning, football, gymnastics, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, shooting, hockey, chess, padel, skydiving activities, in addition to Youth 22 Initiative events, the Sports Corner, and Aspetar activities.
The event was attended by H.E. Mr. Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, Speaker of the Shura Council; H.E. Mr. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiya, Minister of Municipality; H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal); Mr. Abdulla Nasser Al-Naemi, Acting CEO of Aspire Zone Foundation and Director General of Aspire Logistics; H.E. Eng. Yasser bin Abdulla Al Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports and Youth; and Mr. Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, Acting Director General of Aspetar Hospital, along with several members of the Shura Council, a number of sports stars from various disciplines, and officials from Aspire Zone Foundation.
H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Meer, President of the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), stated:
“Ashghal’s participation in the National Sport Day activities stems from our belief in the importance of embedding sports as a way of life and promoting public health. This year, we were pleased with the strong participation of the Authority’s employees and their families in an interactive atmosphere that reflected team spirit and institutional belonging.

For his part, Mr. Abdulla Nasser Al-Naemi, Acting CEO of Aspire Zone Foundation, said:

Meanwhile, Mr. Hamad Yousef AlObaidly, Communication & PR Director at Aspire Zone Foundation, stated:
“National Sport Day has become an annual occasion eagerly anticipated by everyone, as it carries a clear message encouraging movement, activity, and making sport a part of daily life.”
He explained that the strong attendance and engagement witnessed at Aspire Park reflect the community’s connection to this occasion and the keenness of various groups to participate in and benefit from the diverse activities prepared to suit all. He emphasized that the Foundation would continue launching initiatives and programs that promote a culture of sports throughout the year.
In turn, Mr. Khalid Ali Al-Mawlawi, Acting Chief Operating Officer of Aspetar Hospital, emphasized Aspetar’s commitment— as the world’s leading orthopedic and sports medicine hospital— to promoting community health. Aspetar participated in National Sport Day activities by providing a range of medical and health services at Field No. (11) in Aspire Park. These included free medical services such as general check-ups, health consultations, lifestyle and nutrition guidance, health assessments to measure fitness levels and help participants develop improvement plans, as well as educational workshops and lectures aimed at raising awareness of the importance of sports in injury prevention, enhancing public health, and reducing chronic diseases.
These activities were held as part of fruitful cooperation between Aspire Zone Foundation and several governmental and private entities in the State of Qatar. Several institutions participated in organizing diverse sports activities, in addition to hosting special events for their employees in the Foundation’s fields, which enhanced interaction among different sectors and supported the promotion of physical activity within the community.
National Sport Day activities concluded amid strong interaction from participants, reaffirming Aspire Zone Foundation’s leading role in promoting community sports and reinforcing concepts of health and physical activity among all segments of society.
