The curtains came down today at Aspire Dome on the finals of the 2024–2025 School Olympic Program, in an atmosphere full of enthusiasm and spirited competition. The event welcomed over 6,000 attendees, including students, parents, and fans, marking one of the most successful editions in the program’s history.
This eighteenth edition saw a record participation of 21,363 students from all three educational levels (primary, preparatory, and secondary), competing in 28 sports disciplines—demonstrating the country’s commitment to instilling a sporting culture and promoting Olympic values among youth.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of prominent international and national sports figures, led by His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee; His Excellency Dr. Thomas Bach, The Former President of the International Olympic Committee; and Her Excellency Lolwah Al Khater, Minister of Education and Higher Education, and Mr. Abdulla Nasser Al-Naemi, Acting CEO, Aspire Zone Foundation alongside senior sports officials and stars of Qatar’s national teams.
Guests took a comprehensive tour of the various sports venues inside Aspire Dome, closely following the students’ performances and expressing their admiration for the event’s organization and the athletes’ impressive skill levels.
The finals concluded with the awarding of medals and honors to the winners in each discipline, in a festive atmosphere that reflected the spirit of fair competition and organizational excellence. The event received extensive media coverage across local and international outlets, in addition to high engagement across the official digital platforms of Qatar’s sports institutions.
