Hamad Aquatic Center in Aspire Zone witnessed an exciting atmosphere during the Vortex International Swimming Championship 2026, held from 30 April to 2 May, organized by Aspire Zone Foundation in collaboration with the Qatar Swimming Association, and attended by a remarkable crowd that reflected the importance of the event.
The championship opened on its first day with a simple yet engaging opening ceremony, which featured a distinctive performance that set the tone for strong competition, bringing together around 680 male and female swimmers representing more than 30 clubs from five countries. On the second day, the intensity increased through a series of races and challenges that showed diverse technical levels and strong competitive spirit among participants.

The excitement continued until the final day, when the competition reached its peak with strong performances across all age categories, from young swimmers in their first competitive experience to elite athletes. The championship concluded with the recognition of 22 male and female winners, honoring their outstanding performances throughout the event.
From the start of the competition until its conclusion, the venue witnessed great engagement from the audience, while the presence of Tunisian Olympic swimmer and world champion Ahmed Jaouadi added a special atmosphere, as he inspired participants through his interaction with the crowd.
This event highlights Aspire Zone Foundation’s success in hosting high-level sporting events in collaboration with its partners, contributing to the development of swimming and strengthening Qatar’s position as a leading destination for major sporting events.
