Aspire Zone Park witnessed, on Friday evening, 6 February 2026, one of the most prominent youth sporting events that reflects Qatar’s commitment to supporting modern sports and physical fitness, with the conclusion of the third edition of the “Meras
3 Seashore” Calisthenics Championship.
The championship was sponsored by SEASHORE GROUP as the Main Sponsor, Aspire Zone Foundation as the Platinum Sponsor, Gulf Colours as the Gold Sponsor, and Mazzraty, Oakberry, and Peninsuler as Bronze Sponsors, under the supervision of Kallos Fitness, highlighting the combined efforts of several institutions in supporting youth and sports in Qatar.
Calisthenics, a sport that relies on bodyweight exercises to build strength, flexibility, and balance, is considered one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide. It has recently gained significant popularity among youth in Qatar, as it provides comprehensive physical training without the need for heavy equipment or weights.
Through organizing this championship, Qatar reaffirms its commitment to providing suitable opportunities for youth to develop their physical and athletic skills, while promoting a healthy lifestyle and fitness culture within the community.
The championship featured intense competition for the title of best athletes in two categories: Lightweight (under 68 kg) and Heavyweight (over 68 kg). Competitors demonstrated high levels of skill in exercises such as push-ups, pull-ups, squats, muscle-ups, in addition to the 40 kg dips exercise, which combines strength with precision performance.
The event was marked by a large audience turnout from various age groups, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere and reflecting the growing interest in sports across Qatar.
Champions Crowned
A total of 43 Qatari athletes competed for the championship titles in both weight categories.
In the Lightweight category (under 68 kg), Abdulaziz Al-Hassawi secured first place and won a cash prize of QAR 50,000, followed by Nasser Flamrzi in second place with QAR 25,000, and Faraj Al-Marri in third place with QAR 15,000.
In the Heavyweight category (over 68 kg), Abdulrahman Al-Maadhadi claimed first place with a prize of QAR 50,000, Yousuf Al-Balushi finished second with QAR 25,000, while Abdullah Al-Musallih secured third place with QAR 15,000.
