In a new national achievement that reflects its leadership in digital innovation, Aspire Zone Foundation has been awarded the “Transformative AI Application Excellence Award” in recognition of its pioneering efforts in documenting employee experiences with digital services through an advanced enterprise AI platform.
The award was received by Mr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Deputy President and Director General of Sports Facilities, from H.E. Mr. Mohammed bin Ali Al-Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, during the awards ceremony at the Google Cloud Summit, in the presence of several digital transformation leaders and representatives of national institutions.
The “AI Assistant” is a smart workplace solution developed specifically for all Aspire Zone Foundation employees. It integrates seamlessly with self-service systems, internal communication tools, the enterprise portal platform, and policy and regulatory databases.
Through the My Aspire application, employees enjoy smart, instant, and round-the-clock access to various services, allowing them to complete tasks through natural, smooth dialogue, instead of navigating traditional forms and systems. This has led to enhanced operational efficiency, reduced pressure on support centers, and increased employee satisfaction.
This achievement marks the first milestone in Aspire Zone Foundation’s ambitious three-year AI program, which aims to build a digital culture within the organization by empowering employees first, before expanding into critical areas that form the core of the Foundation’s mission, such as:
- Supporting sports performance through analytics and athlete tracking
- Academic education with intelligent learning and advisory assistants
- Patient journeys using AI for guidance and appointments
- Facilities management via predictive maintenance and operational automation
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulaziz Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Deputy President and Director General of Sports Facilities at Aspire Zone Foundation, stated:
"This award represents a national recognition of our ongoing commitment to technological innovation and human empowerment. We began our AI journey from within, because we believe true digital transformation starts with the employee—then reaches the athlete, the student, and every stakeholder in our community.”
Al Mahmoud emphasized that the success of the My Aspire application was not only technical but also cultural, as it contributed to changing the perception of AI from a mere technical tool to an active partner in daily work.
This recognition strengthens Aspire Zone Foundation’s position as a national leader in the practical application of artificial intelligence, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030 for digital transformation and the building of a knowledge-based economy.
It is noteworthy that the Foundation also won the Sports Technology Leadership Award at the 2024 Google Cloud Conference, in appreciation of its outstanding innovations and significant contributions to the field.
This accomplishment serves as a model for how governmental and semi-governmental entities can lead the responsible, effective, and human-centered adoption of artificial intelligence.
