Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has announced the completion of the registration phase as it gets ready to host more than 800 male and female sports enthusiasts at the Ramadan Sports Festival (RSF2019) by AZF scheduled to take place from the 8thof May and is scheduled to last until the 17thof May.
Across 10 days, AZF will host a raft of events and tournaments and the organises putting the finishing touches to the rules and regulations for the football, volleyball and basketball tournaments.
Group tournaments will commence on the 8thof May
On the 8thof May, Ramadan Sports Festival will commence with the men’s football and volleyball tournaments, in addition to the women’s handball competition. On the 9thof May, the junior hockey tournaments for boys and girls will kick off. The men’s basketball tournament is scheduled to commence on the 13thof May and women’s basketball tournament on the 14thof May.
Aspire Dome opens its doors to walking enthusiasts
As for the individual sessions, Aspire Dome will open its doors to walking enthusiasts who will take part in a new walking experience led by Aspire Zone trainers. The walking sessions will be held daily from May 8-17. The first session will kick off at 3:15pm, the second one will be at 4:15pm. Each session will last for 45 minutes.
Wall climbing activity
Wall climbing comes back this year for those aged four and up and will take place under the supervision of experts in the field. This activity works on enhancing movement and strengthening muscles.
One day activities
The festival will also witness one-day activities, such as the Junior fitness challenge, which is scheduled to take place on the 9thof May for the boys, as for the girls it will take place on the 16thof May. In addition, AZF will also organise table-tennis activities for persons with disabilities on the 12thof May.
Aspetar to announce tips during the holy month of Ramadan through renowned athletes
Aspetar will lead a healthy Ramadan campaign to encourage members of the community to sustain their physical activity level during the fasting month.
The ‘Healthy Ramadan’ campaign will be led by Aspire Academy Graduates and Qatar national team football players, Al-Moez Ali and Abdelkarim Hassan, member of Qatar’s athletics national team, Mariam Farid, Qatar’s national team volleyball player, Mubarak Dahi, Qatar’s national team squash player, Abdullah Al-Tamimi, Qatari handball player, Abdulla Al-Karbi, Qatar national football team’s second goalkeeper, Hussein Yasser and the sports celebrity, Mohamed Saadoun Al-Kuwari.
This year, the Ramadan Sports Festival will be sponsored by Saleh Al Hamad Al Mana Co, Aseel Water and EsQalar Sports.
