Aspire Winter Camp, an edutainment experience for children

Children from across Qatar have flocked to Aspire Zone during the school winter break to enjoy a fun-filled programmme at Aspire’s first Winter Camp for kids, which is scheduled to run until Thursday, January 3.
The first week of the Winter Camp saw children enjoying several entertaining activities, including plantation sessions, where children were taught about the fascinating world of plants through a range of fun experiments. These sessions were held in cooperation with Friends of the Environment Centre. Children also paid a visit to Baladna farm.
Further recreational activities took place where children had the opportunity to cycle in Aspire Park’s cool weather and learn taekwondo techniques. Basketball, aerobics, gymnastics, face-painting and colouring, also took place at the Camp, as well as excursions to some of Doha’s famous landmarks. As the Camp concludes in the coming days, children will visit the Angry Birds World theme park.
Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF) has tailored the Winter Camp activities in accordance to children’s preferences.Age categories are divided into three groups per gender; from 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14 years old. The programmes for each age group are carefully tailored to the respective ages.
The Winter Camp was visited by Thailand’s Royal Princess Bajrakitiyabha Mahidol, during her tour at Aspire Zone Foundation earlier last week.
The Camp is sponsored by Angry Birds World, Baladna, Cage Sport, Friends of the Environment centre and 7thHeaven Arts centre.
